In three weeks time we will be opening our doors to sword fighters, instructors, authours, lecturers, and swordplay enthusiasts from around the world. This is going to be an exciting weekend of workshops, lectures, a fantastic gala party, and amazing guests.
If you haven’t familiarized yourself with everything that is going on at the event, we have made it even easier with three new schedule pages highlighting each of the three main parts of VISS: Lectures, Workshops, and 3-Day Workshop Series. Be sure to check them out.
Don’t Miss the Lectures!
Though the weekend is packed full of great intensives and workshops on swordplay, axework, unarmed, and a myriad of other disciplines, we also have an incredible opportunity to learn about history, swordplay, and their representation in the movies, through our amazing lecture track. We have exciting sessions being delivered by authours Neal Stephenson and CC Humphreys, University Professors Dr. Noelle Phillips and Dr. Robert Rouse, and swordplay practitioners and researchers Greg Mele, Puck Curtis, and David McCormick.
The lectures are worth coming out for just on their own and definitely worth fitting into the schedule of your weekend if you’re attending the whole symposium.
Be At the Gala
One of the most raved about parts of VISS 2011 was the Saturday Night Gala. This year promises to be equally spectacular with beautiful music from Vancouver’s Roma Swing Ensemble, sword fighting performances from Academie Duello’s Performance team as well as guest instructors, the final’s of our event tournaments, great desserts, great company, and more. Be sure to book your ticket by calling us at 604-568-9907.
