Code of Conduct

The Vancouver International Swordplay Symposium is a gathering of martial arts practitioners and enthusiasts that aims to be a radically inclusive event for attendees of any race, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity. By welcoming practitioners from any background, without discrimination, we create a space for greater learning and enrichment for all.

  • No participant may engage in training or sparring while under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • Anyone engaging in discriminatory or harassing behaviour will be removed from class and may also be removed from the event. This includes – but is not limited to – discrimination based on race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnic or religious background, and ability, as well as verbal, physical, and sexual harassment
  • The Academie Duello Code of Conduct applies for all VISS events/activities as well.

All participants at VISS are expected to abide by the above.
