We are happy to announce the venues for the upcoming 2017 Vancouver International Swordplay Symposium! This year, VISS will take place in downtown Vancouver, centered around Academie Duello Centre for Swordplay at 412 West Hastings Street. Opening and closing ceremonies, equipment rental, the Saturday evening gala, and a variety of martial arts workshops will be held at Academie Duello.
In addition, we’ll also be holding workshops across the street at OKO Dance Vancouver (417 W. Hastings St.), as well as at Dancey Ballroom (505 Hamilton St.) two blocks away. All three of these locations are within a short walking distance from one another and accessible via public transit.
These three facilities are especially convenient to our attendees who plan on staying at the Victorian Hotel, a longtime VISS sponsor which is located on the same block as Dancey Ballroom. Attendees will be able to easily move between the Victorian and each of the venues, great for taking a break between sessions or getting refreshed for the gala!
