The year is coming to an end and VISS planning is solidly underway! Here are a few updates for the event:
Workshops and Lectures
Along with our Intensive Tracks, VISS will have a full set of interesting and engaging one-off workshops and lectures that tie into our This-vs-This theme. There are a few areas we are particularly focusing on including expanding our Bolognese representation, including sword and buckler, partisan, and rotella. There will be further rapier and longsword tracks as well as a series of lectures from our current instructors and some guests.
Official Hotel
We have an official hotel for the event. The Executive Inn and Suites of Richmond has given us a great deal on rooms as well as shuttle options to and from the event. Take a look at our Location page for all the details! Be sure to mention the Vancouver International Swordplay Symposium when you book your room to get your discount rate and to help us secure our room block!
Gala
Everyone who has a full weekend pass is invited to attend our Saturday night Gala! Planning has just started but like past years this promises to be an awesome night including live music, swordplay performances, dancing, drinks, snacks, and lots of awesome conversation. Guest tickets are available through our registration page if you want to bring along a +1, 2, or 3!
Early Registration Deadline
Remember that our Early Registration Deadline is January 16th, after that prices will be going up! So be sure you and your friends get their tickets right away!
