With over 600 plays, the Anonimo Bolognese is the most thorough source ever written on the use of the single-handed sword. This wealth of material can make it hard for people to understand where to start. Thankfully, the author tells us to start with the technique known as “stringere.” This a technique intended to force an opponent to respond. This class will demonstrate how to start a fight using stringere, and how to use the principles that guide the fencing of the Anonimo Bolognese to deal with your opponent’s responses.
Class Length: 90 Minutes
Required Equipment: Fencing mask/helm, gorget, gloves, one-handed sword (rapier, sidesword or arming sword.)
