Making the Most of Multi-Level Classes

Timeslot(s):

Whether you’re a student or an instructor, a class containing participants of various levels of experience and ability can be challenging.  Because of the niche nature of Western Martial Arts — and even more so in the niche within the niche that is Bolognese Arts — we very seldom have enough bodies in a sala to create streamlined groups of students who are at similar places in their swordplay journey.  In this practical workshop we’ll look at how to:

  • deepen your training in classes where the material seems familiar and basic
  • narrow down to avoid overwhelm and make concrete gains with content that seems to be beyond your skill level
  • for instructors, help integrate students of many levels in a cohesive class where everyone feels welcome and makes progress
