Greetings from VISS!
We have some really good news regarding our next event. Instead of our next symposium happening in 2021, we’ve decided to run another in 2020! A whole year sooner! We will once again be at the Richmond Olympic Oval during the weekend of March 6th – 8th 2020, and we have something really special planned for the theme of the event.
The official theme of the 2020 Vancouver International Swordplay Symposium is: East meets West. This year we will be bringing together a slate of internationally renowned instructors from both Eastern and Western martial arts disciplines to compare and contrast these arts from around the world. How does the Spanish swordplay tradition connect to the arts of the Philippines? How will weapon arts from India stand up against English sabres and backswords? How will these disciplines work with and against each other? Our intensives and workshops will focus on these questions and more!
Another bonus to this good news is: Early-Bird Registration will open on July 31st! So keep your eyes peeled for another announcement around then!
