Fall Down Seven Times Get Up Eight: Resilience, Will, and the Long Path

This workshop explores the inner qualities that sustain a martial artist over a lifetime: resiliency, tenacity, and the Will. Drawing from decades of training and teaching, we examine how these qualities evolve across five stages of character development—from initial commitment, through the fiery zeal of youth, to the intuitive calm and spiritual maturity of later practice. Participants will discover how setbacks, aging, and shifting purpose shape the martial journey, and how understanding these transformations strengthens long-term practice. This session blends personal experience, martial philosophy, and practical reflection, offering a grounded and honest look at the psychological and spiritual dimensions of martial training.
