The Vancouver International Swordplay Symposium is a couple of weeks behind us now and plans have already begun for the 2017 event! We have already set the date for February 17-19, 2017. Please mark your calendars!
We are now looking for new board members to help plan and execute VISS 2017.
Though the event is hosted by Academie Duello, it is a volunteer-run affair. Participants on the board come from both inside and outside of Academie Duello. Everyone who is passionate about this event is welcome to apply.
Being on the board is a great way to get to know the inner workings of the event, help make it awesome, and contribute to our community and art.
Not all positions will be available this year but if you believe you might be interested we will be hosting an orientation and transition board meeting in the coming weeks (based on availability of interested parties). If you are potentially interested in being part of the board, please contact me and I will include you on our next planning session. At this meeting you can learn more and become a part of a great team.
If you are a VISS enthusiast from abroad, you could still be involved. We would happily video conference you into our session or answer your questions by phone or email.
